FAQ
1. What is a kinkmeme?
It’s a prompt meme. You can comment to make requests for fics you’d like authors to write or art you'd like artists to make: these requests are called “prompts.”
Once you've posted a prompt, anyone can choose to "fill" it by replying with fic they've written or art they've made to fulfill your request.
2. What can I include in a prompt?
You can make a request for a ship or specific characters, and themes or concepts you would like to see paired with those ships/characters. For example, you can request Kinn/Porsche and 5 times they kissed in unlikely situations.
Prompts should be formatted with the ship or characters you want in the subject line, as well as a few words summarizing what you're requesting, and the full request in the comment body. You can also specify anything you don’t want an author to include in their fill in the comment body. These are commonly called “Do Not Want” or DNWs for short. For example: Time/Tay on a date during university. DNW: unhappy ending, background ships.
3. Is the kinkmeme only NSFW (Not Safe For Work)
No, despite its name, a kinkmeme can include both SFW and NSFW content. The prompts and fills do not have to feature sexual content or kinks.
4. Is darker content allowed in the kinkmeme?
Yes! Any content is permitted in the KPTS Kinkmeme, as long as it follows the Rules (i.e., “no kink-shaming, negative comments, hate, or bullying”).
5. Is the kinkmeme limited to fic? Can prompts be fulfilled with fanart?
Prompts are most commonly filled with fic, but fanart is absolutely welcome in the kinkmeme! Prompts can include requests for fanart.
6. Why can’t I make a request for fic or art based on someone else’s fanwork? (See Rule #9)
Ideas naturally overlap, and we expect many of the prompts in this kinkmeme will look like many other ideas that lots of other people have had! But as moderators, we would rather not have this kinkmeme turn into a space where any creator feels like their planned creative ideas are being misappropriated for someone else’s work. Permission is the way to go, so if you want to request a fic inspired by someone else’s fanwork, ask the original creator first - or check their profile/bio to see if they already give it!
7. Why is there a kinkmeme on AO3 and on Dreamwidth? Is there a difference?
Part of why we created a kinkmeme on Dreamwidth is because there are some limits to the version on AO3. Namely, to request a prompt or to post a fill, you must have an AO3 account, whereas Dreamwidth allows guest users to post comments. Additionally, some fans are more used to participating in kinkmemes on Dreamwidth than on AO3, so we wanted to give fans both options.
Since AO3 is an archive, we’ll do our best to get fills cross-posted from Dreamwidth to the collection on AO3 (with the authors’ consent) so that the works are preserved.
8. Why are there four different prompt posts?
We chose to separate out the two main ships, Kinn/Porsche and Vegas/Pete, so it would be easier for anyone looking to fill rarer and multi ships and RPF to find prompts for those, and vice versa.
9. Do we have to prompt and fill anonymously?
No. The standard for Dreamwidth kinkmemes historically is anonymity, as it fosters an environment where everyone can really post their weirdest and wildest fantasies, but you are completely welcome to post logged in, especially for fills, if you want to be able to prove it's you when reposting offsite. But deanoning later is also fine; we'll be going on the honor system.
10. Can I request more than one prompt?
Yes, you can request as many prompts as you like!
11. Do I have to fill a prompt if I request one?
No, you are not required to fill a prompt for every request you make, but it is courtesy to try to do at least a little filling while you're here!
12. Can I fill a prompt even if someone else already has?
Yes!
13. Can I fill my own prompt?
Yes!
14. Can I reply to prompts with anything other than a fill?
Yes! If you want to reply to a prompt to second it, to share a rec for something you think the prompter would like, to informally and non-exclusively "claim" it, to ask a clarifying question ("How do you feel about background Kim/Chay?"), or anything else, please feel free.
Similarly, everyone is encouraged to comment on fills letting the author/artist know what you think, whether or not you were the one who made the request!

To hijack a prompt means to fulfill it with a fic that includes a ship the prompter didn’t ask for. For example, if the prompter requests a fic about Tay/Arm, you cannot post Pete/Arm as a fill instead.
7. The only fandoms covered by this kinkmeme are the tv series and Kinnporsche RPF. This kinkmeme does not include the novel canon.
